About this game
Alice in Wonderland is a Game Boy Color action release centered on story, case, or mission progress, movement and immediate actions, and enemy and hazard responses. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on campaign length or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Readable animation, hits, and hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while color choices need to distinguish characters, objects, and routes rather than serve as decoration alone. The main genre-specific friction is that period-specific collision rules, limited guidance, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. In addition, battery saves, link cables, cartridge-specific hardware, the unlit display, and regional language can affect the original experience. This description covers only this release and excludes emulator features, modern-port conveniences, and content from other platforms.

A beautifully animated, varied adventure with some unforgiving retries.
This GBC Alice turns Disney's Wonderland into an inviting place through expressive characters and animated scenery. Mushroom-driven size changes matter to clearing enemies, passing obstacles and gathering objects, while item exchanges in the overhead world link the side-scrolling stages together. Falling down the rabbit hole, floating in a bottle and playing croquet keep the short journey varied. Its friendly appearance does not mean every challenge is forgiving, however. Bill's ladder section can erase a substantial climb after one mistake, and other sequences may send players back through a whole stage. Three save files and clearly assigned running and jumping controls make resuming straightforward, although changing perspectives takes adjustment. Music is modest beside the visuals. It suits platform-adventure fans who value fairy-tale animation and tolerate occasional repeated attempts.
Strengths
- Expressive characters and animated backgrounds establish fairy-tale atmosphere.
- Size changes, item exchanges and special scenarios diversify exploration.
Weaknesses
- The brief campaign, harsh ladder/stage retries and modest music limit its appeal.
Who it is for: Disney and platform-adventure fans willing to adjust to perspective changes and retries.
Play notes: This is the 2000 Disney GBC game; Select deletes a save slot, so use it carefully.
