About this game
Aery - A New Frontier is a PlayStation 4 racing game centered on driving and route control, route judgment, and speed and overtaking management. Tracks raise pressure through corners, rivals, and time targets, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Speed, track boundaries, and vehicle feedback determine driving readability, while HD output, HDR or PS4 Pro modes, HDD streaming, surround audio, and television-distance interfaces need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that visibility, collisions, steering precision, wheel support, or loading can limit consistency. Platform conditions also include HDD installs and loading, patch version, storage space, DualShock 4 battery life, PS Camera or PS VR requirements, visual modes, frame rate, and network services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Aery is a series of gentle flight adventures seen from behind a small bird. You glide through stylized landscapes, look for feathers or memory fragments and gradually open the way onward. Changing settings and stories give each journey its character, while flying and observing remain the main pleasures.

Atmospheric space flight, limited by slow routes and fragmented storytelling.
Aery: A New Frontier sends a bird continuously forward through space scenes, collecting ordered feathers to advance a story of human exploration. The prescribed trail is easier to follow than aimless searching, while feather checkpoints reduce collision recovery rather than sending every attempt back to the beginning. Synth music and expansive scenery occasionally create lovely, peaceful moments. Slow flight and a fixed collection order nevertheless leave few meaningful choices. Across eight scenes, recurring ships and structures reduce novelty, while dialogue broken into collectible-sized fragments struggles to sustain momentum. Finishing the journey offers little reason to repeat it. This suits a quiet sightseeing break more than free exploration or compelling narrative, and Xbox launch rendering or subtitle problems are not attributed to PS4.
Strengths
- An ordered feather trail is easier to follow
- Checkpoints reduce repeated travel after collisions
- Music and space scenery occasionally align beautifully
Weaknesses
- Slow flight and prescribed order offer limited decisions
- Repeated settings and fragmented dialogue weaken momentum
Who it is for: Players wanting a quiet sightseeing and music break who accept slow, directed flight.
Play notes: Original PS4 edition with English voices and text. Follow the feather sequence and its checkpoints; this is not another Aery entry.
