About this game
A Memoir Blue is a PlayStation 4 adventure game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, story, case, or mission progress, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while HD output, HDR or PS4 Pro modes, HDD streaming, surround audio, and television-distance interfaces need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include HDD installs and loading, patch version, storage space, DualShock 4 battery life, PS Camera or PS VR requirements, visual modes, frame rate, and network services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Sensitive audiovisual storytelling is held back by thin interaction and cursor friction.
A Memoir Blue begins when a familiar melody draws champion swimmer Miriam into memories of life with her mother. Hand-drawn childhood scenes meet a rendered present, while water alternately suggests freedom, pressure and separation. Music and colour give those transitions a coherent emotional language. The experience works more like an interactive short film than a puzzle adventure: clicking, dragging and clearing objects usually open the next scene, with only brief direct control of the character. Its subject can resonate strongly, but slow symbolic scenes leave some changes in perspective underexplained. The PS4 cursor adds a practical obstacle, moving too sensitively around small targets without a setting to reduce it. Repeated adjustments interrupt a story that depends on sustained attention and mood.
Strengths
- Hand-drawn and rendered imagery express time and feeling.
- Music and water imagery support the family theme.
Weaknesses
- Most interaction simply advances the next scene.
- PS4 cursor sensitivity cannot be reduced.
Who it is for: Players interested in short audiovisual stories and mother-daughter relationships.
Play notes: Roughly one to two hours of low-challenge narrative; small PS4 targets can be awkward.
