About this game

007 - Agent Under FIre is a Xbox adventure game centered on story, case, or mission progress, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while standard or progressive-scan video, widescreen support, HDD caching, and Dolby Digital audio need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include disc loading, the internal HDD and cache, memory units, regional language, display modes, legacy controller ports, and retired Xbox Live services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

6.5 / 10Original Xbox

Gadget spectacle helps a shallow, awkward shooter.

The original Xbox Agent Under Fire offers first-person Bond missions within a new cloning plot. Q gadgets, car scenes and hidden Bond moves give the twelve levels some variety beyond firing at guards. Medals and local multiplayer provide a reason to return, but simple objectives and weak enemy decisions place a ceiling on solo replay. Familiar locations and theme music deliver more spy atmosphere than the story itself develops. A contemporary Xbox player found the second control preset more comfortable than the default, while cycling Q gadgets under fire remained cumbersome. That is a practical observation from this release rather than a borrowed PlayStation 2 performance claim. It suits players who can use local competition to extend a brief campaign. The similarly named PS2 catalog entry remains a separate frozen identity here; its frame-rate and multiplayer details are not automatically assigned to Xbox.

Strengths

  • Cars, medals and local modes add activities.

Weaknesses

  • Simple enemies and cumbersome gadget cycling undermine fights.

Who it is for: Bond shooter fans with local opponents.

Play notes: 2002 Xbox original; no imported PS2 frame-rate claim.
