Overview

Tenchu is a ninja stealth-action series about reaching your objective without giving yourself away. Watch patrols, approach through cover and use ninja tools to create an opening for a decisive stealth kill. Representative games: Tenchu: Stealth Assassins (1998): A grappling hook opens rooftop routes above the guards patrolling below. Tenchu 2: Birth of the Stealth Assassins (2000): Adds underwater approaches and the ability to drag bodies out of sight. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (2003): Separate two-player co-op missions let partners coordinate their infiltration and stealth kills. Suitable for: Players who enjoy patient observation, tense pauses and finding a cleaner route on a second attempt. The payoff is slipping past a dangerous position without raising the alarm.
