Overview

Fatal Fury is SNK’s fighting series about the rivalries surrounding Terry Bogard, Rock Howard and South Town. Its entries explore different ways to control a bout, from switching fighting lanes to perfectly timed guards and forceful special attacks. Representative games: Fatal Fury: King of Fighters (1991): Introduces battles across foreground and background lanes, adding another dimension to positioning. Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999): Rewards blocking at the last moment with Just Defend, making precise defensive timing central to its fights. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves (2025): Offers two control styles, letting players choose between traditional inputs and more accessible ways to perform attacks. Suitable for: Players who enjoy learning a fighter’s moves and reading an opponent’s next action will find plenty to explore. Expect close exchanges where positioning and a well-timed response can change the momentum.
