About this game
Susume! Taisen Puzzle Dama - Toukon! Marutama Chou is a Nintendo 64 puzzle game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, rule recognition, and spatial or logical judgment. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, touch, or pointer feedback need to support decisions directly, while 3D scenes, fog, textures, and cartridge audio need to preserve target readability within limited memory and television output. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include camera control, stick precision, Controller Pak saves, Rumble Pak support, Expansion Pak requirements, and four-player setup can affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Fast, satisfying chain battles with two worthwhile puzzle rule sets.
Matching only three spheres gives Puzzle Dama an immediate pace. Garbage becomes ordinary pieces after an adjacent match, turning danger into material for a counterattack, while later speed rewards planning chains before the board becomes overwhelming. Tokkaedama changes the problem by letting a cursor exchange selected pieces across the field. The two variants therefore offer different ways to think, not just different character skins. Chibi fighters, an eccentric cast and catchy music keep matches lively. Solo variety is narrower: the puzzles are built around versus encounters rather than endless play, and the bonus bowling game is basic. Difficulty options do not make later matches gentle. Players who enjoy rapid competitive clearing will appreciate it most; relaxed board organization is not its natural rhythm.
Strengths
- Fast chains and garbage counterattacks
- Two puzzle systems and lively presentation
Weaknesses
- No endless solo format
- Demanding later speed and basic bowling extra
Who it is for: Players who enjoy competitive clearing, chain planning or local two-player matches.
Play notes: Japanese release; difficulty remains demanding, and saving requires Controller Pak space.
