About this game
Supercross 2000 is a Nintendo 64 racing game centered on vehicle control, route judgment, and speed and overtaking management. Tracks raise pressure through corners, rivals, and time targets, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Speed, track boundaries, and vehicle feedback determine driving readability, while 3D scenes, fog, textures, and cartridge audio need to preserve target readability within limited memory and television output. The genre-specific limitation is that visibility, collisions, steering precision, motion calibration, or network conditions can limit consistency. Platform conditions also include camera control, stick precision, Controller Pak saves, Rumble Pak support, Expansion Pak requirements, and four-player setup can affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Nintendo 64AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Plausible jump physics reward practice, but insufficient turning response frustrates racing lines.
EA's Supercross 2000 brings motorcycle stadium racing to the Nintendo 64, with an emphasis on learning jumps and lines over repeated events. A contemporary N64 review directly covers handling, modes and audiovisual quality. Supercross rewards attention to jumps, landings and racing lines rather than constant acceleration. Championship and multiplayer give a reason to replay, even if the courses do not remain equally exciting. The contemporary N64 review judged the visuals and sound middling and found the handling in need of adjustment. That makes it more rewarding for players willing to practise than for anyone seeking an immediately intuitive race. It can satisfy a racing fan willing to tune into the bike's response and rehearse each course. Someone seeking instantly intuitive control or a spectacular audiovisual rendition will find a rougher cartridge. The title is assessed independently of Jeremy McGrath's Supercross 2000.
Strengths
- Learnable jumps and racing lines
- Championship and multiplayer
Weaknesses
- Awkward initial handling
- Middling audiovisuals
Who it is for: Motocross fans willing to learn the handling.
Play notes: N64 cartridge, distinct from similarly named supercross games.
