About this game

Parodius offers Vic Viper, Octopus, Twin Bee and Pentarou as playable choices. You move and fire through shooting stages, collecting energy capsules and bells released by enemies to strengthen your attack. Before starting, choose the difficulty and whether upgrades are automatic or manually activated. That setting changes how much attention you give to deciding an upgrade during the action. In two-player mode, the second player takes a turn after the first is out; the original NES mode is alternating rather than simultaneous.
