About this game
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a PlayStation 5 simulation game centered on state management, system learning, and repeated adjustment and feedback. Schedules, changing values, or staged goals encourage repeated adjustment, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Interface clarity and state feedback matter more than spectacle, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that explanations, dense menus, real-time systems, or accessory dependencies can add friction. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Microsoft Flight Simulator puts you in the cockpit to take off, navigate and bring an aircraft safely back to the runway. Civil aviation is its focus: learning instruments and aircraft handling matters as much as the view, with later entries offering increasingly detailed places to explore.

PlayStation 5AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A substantial simulator connecting flight training with global exploration.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 treats flying as a skill to develop. Tutorials, licences, and career assignments turn take-off, navigation, and landing into an extended learning process. Rescue, cargo, and firefighting jobs provide direction, while free flight leaves room to explore landscapes and weather at a personal pace. That breadth is most rewarding for patient players; preparation and study may feel demanding to anyone looking for immediate arcade action. PS5 offers adaptive triggers, gyro input, and a customisable touchpad, but an internet connection remains required. This assessment concerns the Standard Edition in ordinary screen-based play, rather than VR or Pro-specific modes. Starting with the tutorials is a useful way to build confidence before attempting more involved flights. The December 2025 PS5 review also found cockpit text difficult at sofa distance, controller combinations cumbersome, and close-up geometry and audio mixing uneven; later improvement of those conditions is unconfirmed.
Strengths
- Rewarding career progression
- Distinctive global exploration
Weaknesses
- Substantial learning commitment
- Reviewed cockpit legibility and controller complexity
- Requires an internet connection
Who it is for: Patient flight-simulation and virtual-travel enthusiasts.
Play notes: Start with tutorials and check your connection; VR and Pro-specific modes are outside this assessment.
