About this game
LEGO Brawls is a PlayStation 5 fighting game centered on move inputs, offense-defense reads, and character matchups. Short bouts use character differences and rising difficulty for variety, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hit feedback, and readable arenas create match tension, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that button mapping, move recognition, multiplayer accessories, and cpu behavior can affect balance. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Customisation is more appealing than the fighting underneath.
LEGO Brawls has an approachable premise: assemble a themed character, contest an objective and grab temporary items. Its simple controls should suit a casual gathering, but the fighting lacks the feedback and decision-making needed to make repeated rounds satisfying. Unlocking more outfits provides a goal without fixing that weakness. The official FAQ also makes an important distinction: melee weapons share damage and range, so visual variety is not equivalent to distinct combat styles. PlayStation supports offline play with up to four local controllers, preserving a modest party use even without relying on matchmaking. That access does not improve the underlying battles or weak bot opposition. Consider it for undemanding LEGO-themed play, not as a deep platform fighter.
Strengths
- Friendly LEGO customisation.
- Offline local play is supported.
Weaknesses
- Thin combat and weak feedback.
- Repetitive unlocking loop.
Who it is for: Undemanding local-party players interested in LEGO characters.
Play notes: Current online population and matchmaking quality have not been established.
