About this game
Jetsons, The - Robot Panic is a Game Boy action release centered on platform movement and landing judgment, movement and immediate actions, and enemy and hazard responses. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on campaign length or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Readable animation, hits, and hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while silhouettes, contrast, and audio cues need to remain clear on the monochrome display. The main genre-specific friction is that period-specific collision rules, limited guidance, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. In addition, password or battery saves, link-cable requirements, display blur, manual dependence, and regional language can affect use of the original cartridge today. This description covers only this release and excludes emulator features, modern-port conveniences, and content from other platforms.

Game Boy (GB)AI review

Thoughtful family abilities interrupted by menu switching and recharge waits.
Robot Panic lets you choose Elroy, Judy and Jane's initial stages before giving George their ball, gravity boots and jetpack together. Carrying crates, reversing gravity and finding clearance create genuine puzzles rather than cosmetic character changes. Initial stage selection also lets you avoid the auto-scrolling opening. Unfortunately, powers require pause-menu selection, take time to activate and consume slowly replenishing energy. Exploration repeatedly stops for switching and recharging. The native player finds basic movement acceptable, but large characters flying upward can meet hazards outside the visible area. Later doors sometimes loop back, and collected recovery items do not return after continuing. The mall music is a limited highlight in uneven sound. It suits patient cartoon fans interested in ability puzzles within a compact adventure.
Strengths
- Thoughtful abilities and crate puzzles
- Selectable initial stage order
- George combines three family powers
Weaknesses
- Menu selection and recharging interrupt flow
- Upward hazards are hard to foresee
- Non-returning recovery makes retries harsher
Who it is for: Patient cartoon fans who enjoy switching abilities to solve layouts.
Play notes: Original Game Boy version. Choose the initial stage order, disable unused powers, and do not expect collected recovery items to return after continuing.
