About this game
Evil Dead: The Game is a PlayStation 5 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, area and route exploration, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Evil Dead's games bring Ash Williams and the films' possessed Deadites into survival horror and action adventures. Chainsaws, desperate fights and grotesque jokes carry the screen series' unruly personality into games ranging from solo journeys to asymmetric multiplayer.

PlayStation 5AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Engaging asymmetric combat and faithful atmosphere work best for existing owners with a group.
Evil Dead: The Game lets survivors fight back rather than merely flee. Objectives, supplies and fear management interact with the demon's traps, summons and possession, giving coordinated teams and well-timed interventions room to matter. Familiar locations, returning voices and exaggerated gore make the franchise identity convincing. The fixed objective structure becomes repetitive, however, and weak solo missions carry an excessive restart cost. PS5 reviews also identify friction in aiming and melee targeting. This is not a substantial single-player campaign. Digital delisting did not itself end play: Saber's statement retained servers, and recent player reports corroborate continuing access. Existing owners with friends are the clearest audience, without any guarantee about matchmaking waits or how long service will continue.
Strengths
- Survivors and demons both have meaningful agency.
- Locations, voices and gore capture the source material.
Weaknesses
- Solo missions are weak and costly to retry.
- Aiming and melee targeting introduce friction.
Who it is for: Existing owners, franchise fans and coordinated groups.
Play notes: Delisted but servers remain; even AI play requires connectivity. Future service and queue times are not guaranteed, and GOTY content is not assumed included.
