About this game

Criminal Girls 2 is a PlayStation Vita role-playing game centered on character or equipment growth, turn-based tactical decisions, and area exploration. Story beats, exploration, and progression resources support a longer campaign, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Characters, world building, environments, and music carry most of the atmosphere, while the high-density portable display, stereo audio, touch feedback, and handheld interface need to keep text, targets, and state changes clear at a small scale. The genre-specific limitation is that dense text, menu layers, repeated battles, loading, or language dependence can slow progress. Platform conditions also include proprietary memory cards, touch or gyroscope input, battery life, download availability, cross-platform features, and retired online services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Personable combat undermined by grinding and awkward training.

Criminal Girls 2 on PS Vita keeps the series’ unusual turn-based structure: party members propose actions and the player chooses among them. A Coach option adds temporary boosts, and personality comes through in the suggestions. Too often, however, high-health bosses, low experience and scarce currency push progress toward grinding rather than clever decisions. The tower has character side quests, but little interactive puzzle design; repeated rooms, frequent encounters and backtracking stretch a roughly 20-to-30-hour journey. A direct Vita review tested both touch and button-based Motivation controls and found each awkward, especially the vertical touch phases. Quick save is a useful concession to handheld play. Chibi characters, angular enemies and music have style, even when floors look alike. This judgment concerns the Western-localized Vita release, whose sexualized and required training material should be understood before playing. Readers invested in the cast may tolerate the repetition; players wanting tight dungeons and comfortable controls may not.

Strengths

  • Characterful suggestions and vivid sprite art.

Weaknesses

  • Boss attrition, repeated rooms and clumsy training.

Who it is for: Dungeon RPG fans invested in cast relationships.

Play notes: Western Vita localization with required sexualized training.
