About this game
Corpse Party - The Anthology - Sachiko no Renai Yuugi - Hysteric Birthday 2U is a PSP adventure game centered on area and route exploration, collection and development goals, and story, case, or mission progress. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Corpse Party is a supernatural horror-adventure series about people trapped by deadly curses. Investigating rooms, finding useful objects and following unsettling stories gradually reveal what happened—and what might happen to the characters next.

A voiced fan celebration with limited interaction and awkward replay.
Sachiko's birthday reunites characters who could rarely meet in the main story, turning sports, theatre and cooking into absurd spectacles. Established fans can enjoy the crossovers, energetic voice performances and plentiful event artwork, with post-completion character material adding collectible value. This is primarily choice-driven reading, however: exploration disappears, puzzles diminish and sustained horror takes a back seat. The anthology's different writers also produce uneven characterization and a heavy reliance on suggestive jokes and familiar references. On the original PSP, missing whole-scene skipping, loading pauses and unclear ending tracking make completion less convenient than it should be. The result is an entertaining diversion for receptive fans, not a tightly paced horror adventure or a straightforward continuation of the main narrative.
Strengths
- Voice performances enliven unusual character crossovers.
- Event artwork and character extras reward fans.
Weaknesses
- Reduced exploration and familiar-reference humor limit engagement.
- Skipping and ending tracking make replay cumbersome.
Who it is for: Existing fans receptive to black comedy and anthology parody.
Play notes: Contains suggestive and cruel material; this is not a direct sequel, and PSP completion is inconvenient.
