About this game

Cocoto Magic Circus 2 is a Wii U shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, aiming and shooting, and positioning and evasion. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while HD television output and the GamePad screen need to divide maps, status, touch input, and primary focus clearly. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and multiplayer service conditions can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include GamePad battery life and range, shifts between two screens, loading, performance, and retired online and Miiverse services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

6.6 / 10Wii U

Charming paper shooting wears thin despite flexible controls.

Cocoto Magic Circus 2 on Wii U is a friendly shooting gallery. Players aim at paper creatures and balloons, avoid Cocoto faces and use bonuses to keep a combo alive. Five worlds, star ratings and side objectives give Exploration mode short-term goals, and up to five simultaneous crosshairs can make the simple rules lively for a group. Survival and Sudden Death largely repackage the same targets, however, and the low challenge lets novelty fade after a few hours. Handcrafted paper-stage scenery, lively hit reactions and distinct music for each world are the most consistent strengths. A direct Wii U review tests horizontal GamePad pointing, touch firing and swipe reloading. It finds aiming generally accurate but occasionally mistakes a reload swipe for a shot, while the Wii Remote pointer is faster; one interlevel menu also still needs the GamePad when playing with a Remote. These release-specific observations shape the technical judgment. The assessment concerns the European 2013 launch, without treating the later North American date as simultaneous.

Strengths

  • Paper stages, music and accessible shooting.

Weaknesses

  • Recycled modes, low challenge and swipe misreads.

Who it is for: Families seeking short shared gallery sessions.

Play notes: European Wii U release; North American timing differs.
