About this game
Bluey: The Videogame is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on area and route exploration, collection and development goals, and story, case, or mission progress. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Simple inputs suit young children more than experienced players.
Bluey: The Videogame is built for children who recognise the family and are still learning a controller. Basic jumping and interaction, familiar playground games and shared character roles make joining in straightforward. The voices and scenery do much of the work of preserving the programme's warmth. Short episodes can fit a family session, but the small set of locations and actions gives experienced players little to explore for long. The historical PS5 review also found occasional characters becoming stuck in scenery, an especially confusing interruption for young children. Its accessible intention deserves recognition without excusing limited content or usability faults. It is best approached as supervised, brief shared play rather than a substantial platform adventure for every age.
Strengths
- Simple inputs suit young children more than experienced players.
- Faithful voices and scenery carry much of the appeal.
Weaknesses
- Limited locations and mechanical variety
Who it is for: Young Bluey fans playing alongside an adult
Play notes: Content is limited, and the 2023 PS5 observation includes scenery traps.
