About this game

Bejeweled 2 is a Wii puzzle game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, rule recognition, and spatial or logical judgment. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, touch, or pointer feedback need to support decisions directly, while standard-definition output, motion feedback, and interface scale at television distance need to preserve control readability. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include the Sensor Bar, remote batteries, motion calibration, peripheral requirements, storage limits, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Excellent Wii pointer play, but a modestly expanded port.

Bejeweled 2 on WiiWare successfully moves the familiar match-three loop to a television. Planning gem cascades and returning for a better score can still consume far more time than expected. Its most convincing platform-specific advantage is the Wii Remote pointer: a direct review finds selection quick and accurate, with a conventional input alternative available. The issue is how little else changes. Puzzles and graphics largely mirror existing versions, the popular Blitz mode is absent, and Mii inclusion is a modest extra rather than a new reason to play. The audiovisual presentation stays readable and comfortable without a meaningful Wii-specific flourish. Historical WiiWare pricing and storefront availability do not establish a way to acquire it today. Players who want this proven puzzle design with pointer controls may find it particularly pleasant; veterans looking for substantially new content should keep expectations modest.

Strengths

  • Accurate pointer selection complements addictive chains.

Weaknesses

  • No Blitz; familiar art and puzzles offer little novelty.

Who it is for: Puzzle fans who prefer Wii pointer controls.

Play notes: Historical WiiWare availability is not current access.
