About this game
Amnesia - Memories is a PlayStation Vita adventure game centered on area and route exploration, location exploration, and character and object interaction. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while the high-density portable display, stereo audio, touch feedback, and handheld interface need to keep text, targets, and state changes clear at a small scale. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include proprietary memory cards, touch or gyroscope input, battery life, download availability, cross-platform features, and retired online services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Engaging route choices and rewind within a text-heavy format.
Amnesia: Memories on PS Vita builds its story around four romance routes for a heroine who has lost her memory. Dialogue choices change affection, trust and suspicion, leading to normal, good or bad endings. Information learned on one route can alter how another character’s behavior is understood, making comparison rewarding. A rewind feature highlights previously selected answers and reduces the effort of testing alternatives. The experience still consists mainly of extended reading; a rock-paper-scissors diversion and Air Hockey offer short breaks rather than changing the core narrative. Detailed portraits and memory illustrations carry much of the emotion, while animation is sparse and the soundtrack rarely stands out. The European Vita review directly describes front-touchscreen minigames and the choice interface, so the usability judgment concerns that handheld version. Its reported Japanese voice and English subtitles are not generalized to every region. It suits readers who enjoy comparing relationships and endings more than players seeking constant action.
Strengths
- Branching parameters and rewind support route exploration.
Weaknesses
- Long reading stretches and limited animation.
Who it is for: Visual-novel readers who enjoy comparing romance routes.
