About this game

Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person shooter set in the Alien universe. Players become Colonial Marines and undertake missions with two human or AI teammates, moving through corridors and defensive positions while facing Xenomorphs, Synthetics and approaching waves of enemies. Class abilities, weapon attachments and perk arrangements shape the roles within the fireteam. Cover, deployable equipment and shooting can work together, while Challenge Cards change mission conditions to give return visits different restrictions and objectives. The base campaigns and separately sold expansion chapters are distinct, with available content depending on the edition and additions owned.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Squad preparation makes sustained firefights satisfying, though familiar routes limit the appeal of repeated missions.

The strongest reason to return is the relationship between preparation and pressure. A squad can arrange its tools before contact, then discover whether that plan survives when enemies close in from several directions. Choosing a role and adjusting equipment gives the next attempt a purpose beyond merely repeating the same shots. That makes coordination an important part of the pleasure, particularly for friends who enjoy refining a shared approach. Repeated routes provide less encouragement to explore, however, and progression cannot completely replace surprise. The result is more persuasive as a place to practise a team plan than as a journey of constant discoveries. The dated PS4 test reports dips during heavy combat; it establishes a limitation of that tested build, without proving the present version behaves identically.

Strengths

  • Roles and equipment give cooperative retries a concrete shared plan.

Weaknesses

  • Familiar mission routes can make repeated runs feel routine.

Who it is for: Friends who enjoy practising cooperative shooting and revising a squad setup.
