Alan Wake Remastered is an action thriller driven by mystery and third-person encounters. Writer Alan Wake visits Bright Falls with his wife, only for her to disappear. Manuscript pages describe a story he cannot remember writing, while a dark presence changes the town around him. Exploration and combat alternate as players follow clues, weakening darkness-shrouded enemies with flashlights and other light sources before using weapons. The remaster retains the original gameplay and includes The Signal and The Writer chapters alongside new developer commentary, bringing those additional parts of the story into the same package.
