About this game
Aery - Cyber City is a PlayStation 4 simulation game centered on area and route exploration, system learning, and repeated adjustment and feedback. Schedules, changing values, or staged goals encourage repeated adjustment, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Interface clarity and state feedback matter more than spectacle, while HD output, HDR or PS4 Pro modes, HDD streaming, surround audio, and television-distance interfaces need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that explanations, dense menus, real-time systems, or accessory dependencies can add friction. Platform conditions also include HDD installs and loading, patch version, storage space, DualShock 4 battery life, PS Camera or PS VR requirements, visual modes, frame rate, and network services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Aery is a series of gentle flight adventures seen from behind a small bird. You glide through stylized landscapes, look for feathers or memory fragments and gradually open the way onward. Changing settings and stories give each journey its character, while flying and observing remain the main pleasures.

Pleasant neon sightseeing undermined by a collectible trail that rarely feels like a trail.
Aery - Cyber City follows a small bird searching for a home after losing a friend. On PS4, the confirmed loop is to fly through each area, gather enough memory shards and move on. There is no need for combat or complicated systems; the appeal is offline solo gliding over industrial structures and futuristic streets. A detailed firsthand account of the same game on Xbox One found these neon settings denser and fresher than much of the series, despite rough geometric modelling. The central design problem is where objectives appear. After one pickup, the next may be high above, behind or far across a large three-dimensional space. Repeated turns and backtracking replace the calm, directional flight that the simple premise seems to promise. Strong visual effects in the last area can make searching harder still. The light story offers little else to sustain momentum through these sweeps. PlayStation's listing confirms a separate PS4 release, offline single-player use and English screen text. It does not provide reliable PS4 performance data, so the Xbox critic's observations about pop-in or bugs are not imported into this score. There is some pleasure in briefly viewing the cyber city from above, but players seeking a flowing exploration route will find the collection structure persistently frustrating.
Strengths
- Simple offline flying
- Attractive neon city viewpoints
- Varied futuristic environments
Weaknesses
- Widely scattered objectives demand backtracking
- Light story and limited interaction
- Effects obscure late targets; English-only listed interface
Who it is for: Players wanting a brief, low-pressure aerial tour of cyber-city scenery.
Play notes: PS4 edition only. Xbox One technical impressions are not evidence of PS4 performance or stability.
