About this game

Ace Banana is a PlayStation 4 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, positioning and evasion, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while HD output, HDR or PS4 Pro modes, HDD streaming, surround audio, and television-distance interfaces need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include HDD installs and loading, patch version, storage space, DualShock 4 battery life, PS Camera or PS VR requirements, visual modes, frame rate, and network services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Amusing archery undermined by launch PSVR tracking faults.

Ace Banana asks PSVR players to draw a bow against waves of mischievous monkeys. Costumes, armor and animations give the targets a light comic personality, and the physical draw-and-release idea can be fun when tracking holds together. The principal problem documented in the PS4 launch review is much more direct than limited content: the camera view repeatedly failed to stay centered, head orientation drifted, and the reticle floated even with steady hands. At times even menu selection became difficult. Faster waves should reward improved aim, yet those conditions made a successful shot less reliably connected to player skill. Bright art and playful enemies cannot carry an archery game when aiming is the uncertain part. This assessment concerns the tested PSVR launch conditions; the historical review does not establish how every later patch or present tracking environment behaves. Anyone seeking the game today should confirm the version and equipment setup.

Strengths

  • Distinct monkey targets support the physical archery idea.

Weaknesses

  • View drift and a floating reticle obstruct accurate shots.

Who it is for: VR arcade fans able to verify their tracking setup first.

Play notes: Requires PSVR equipment; observed faults concern launch conditions.
